If Les Miles is such a genius.....

and everyone here loves him. Can anyone explain to me what the hell he was thinking with those 2 bonehead timeouts in the 4th quarter. He has called timeouts in some games since he has been here a few times that just makes you scratch your head.
Furthermore, if you guys think they out coached Saban and his crew then explain to me why not late in the first half when we have a 14-7 lead with about 3:00 minutes left and we are getting the second half kickoff just run the ball on 3rd and 7 on our own 32, instead we force Lee to make a play with his inexperience and once again PICK 6.
So we go in tied we come back and tie it up 21-21. We block a FG. Then we get the ball in OT. If Im Miles Im telling everyone I dont care if we kick a field goal, that kid does not want to kick another field goal right now we are in his head. Put the pressure on Bama to win. Instead 3rd and 7 again Lee put in a pressure type situation and once again PICK.
If Miles is such a great coach in games like these you know going into these games you win with your strengths not your weaknesses. And at this time of the year, unfortunately our running game is a strength along with our D. The way that this game was playing out, it was going to be up to our D to make the plays and unfortunately we came up short. But to say that we out coached Saban is idiotic.

why didn't this go in the thread already here regarding Miles outcoaching Saban? Secondly, you are gonna criticize the coach using 1 playcall that you didn't agree with? That's not to mention the hinsight issue.

The 1st was to stop the clock. The second was charged due to losing the challenge. Evidently, somebody saw something during the timeout that made them think there was an int? You are correct though, should have just challenged from the start. Would have stopped the clock and at worst saved 1 timeout.

so the #1 team in the nation has to go to OT to beat a team with horrendous qb play with 4 interceptions under their belt and they WERENT outcoached?

OT was crazy Sott picks up 6 to 7 yards on first down we are fired up 3 more plays to make 3 yards then we get cute hike the ball to murphy and lose 5 yards, and once again put a freshman QB in a tough position

I'm thinking the thought process is Lee would throw it to the back of the endzone and its either caught or goes out of the endzone incomplete. Unfortunately, the receiver was sandwiched between to Alabama players, so Lee should not have thrown the pass. He should have thrown it out of the back of the end zone. Its always so easy looking back on Monday morning though.

Thanks that last one was especially nice. No I do not like Saban and I support whomever is our head coach but coming from a coaching family I realize what it takes sometimes in preparation for games like this and sometimes you just need to keep things simple and go with what has gotten you the lead and the momentum in the game at that point. Im done you guys have a great day, I need to work now.
