Songs turning 50 in 2023

Hard to believe it’s been 50 years since these songs were released. Brought back some memories

Some damn good stuff on there... I was trying to keep up with best song out of that list, but every time I thought I had one, something else popped.

Croce and Elton has some solid stuff that year. Each had 3 on that list of 100.

I've not sure there's been a better single year for music before or since.

What I loved about music then was you could hear pop, rock, R&B and country all on the same radio station.

It gave you a chance to build a base of appreciation for all genres of music.

There is a 50th Anniversary Box Set of Dark Side of the Moon coming out in March. I think it's going to be around $300 though.

The entire decade of the 70s was the best time for music IMHO.

Dunno, hard to say without comparing. While there were a number of great songs on that list, there was a boatload of that era missing.

I’d be willing to bet there are 2-3 other years between late 60s and late 70s that could compete.

Great video! Didn't realize Leather Tuscadero was already rocking and rolling way back in '73!

That was fun watching--an eclectic mix of hit songs, rock, country, AC, Europop, traditional pop, heavy metal. That was back when Alice Cooper was still a rocker--he became a balladeer a couple years later.

Thank heavens there was no disco music yet--that kind of messed up pop music in the years before 1980.

The first half of the 1980s blows everything else out of the water.
