Much hyped new haas is a dud.
McLaren took a few races to figure out their upgrades.
With this being a sprint weekend they got even less time to adjust the car.
Wait a few weeks and see what it looks like.
Saying that, they have said themselves they don't expect to vault to the front, but rather learn for next seasons car. They're experimenting.

Putting aside the question of why have sprints at all, why run a sprint at 5?
It's late night in Europe, very early in the morning in Asia and buried on ESPN News vs college football. Who's supposed to be watching at that time?

Trying to fill a whole day at COTA.
They really have done a great job of having enough entertainment during lulls. Just a pain to commit a whole day to the track here due to track access.

Gasly ahead of George? Penalty?
Posted on 10/21/23 at 5:47 pm to fightin tigers
George passed Piastri off the track and didn't give the position back, just took the 5 second penalty.
Piastris car looks like shite.

We are aiming for 11, but the crew I am with like F1, but don't care about everything else going on. If it were me I would be there to see the Masters race. Those cars are awesome.

We walked through the support paddock and got up close with them. Pretty cool stuff.

tire restrictions with the 18 lap limit which meant these guys were doing intense push laps the whole race without much managing.
This was probably the bigger factor.
