IIRC, we watched it on a Sunday night. It was so easy to not know the outcomes then. No internet, no real news cycle. It was actually sort of nice because you watched it like it was live, even though it wasn't. Nobody knew the outcomes then.
I was a 19 year old in college and watched it on a little black and white TV with my roommate. No cable. Only rabbit ears.

it was live in canada where they actually watch hockey.
