The shooter was not a member of the dance club. They did not recognize him as anyone who goes to the club.
I just found out there were a couple of guys who disarmed him and chased him out of the place. Had they not intervened I'm sure there would've been more people dead or injured. There's still footage of the struggle in the link below.

I don’t know about currently but the article said he used to teach there and that’s how he met his ex wife is teaching dance at that club.

The club where the gun was taken away was not the place where he killed the 9 people. He hadnt found anyone to shoot at that second location
