Democrat and/or Republican … the list of counties in Texas who’ve reached their limit with the feckless federal government continues to grow.

Here’s my question: How soon after invoking the Texas Constitution and calling forth the state military and/or militia until Texas is targeted by fedgov and the northern and western states for doing what the UNITED STATES refuses to do?

How much are we supposed to take? The NYC mayor is melting down over the small number of illegals his city has seen—a number Texas shoulders daily.

Something’s got to give.

quote:

They also cited Article IV, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution that authorizes the governor to “call forth the militia to execute the laws of the state, to suppress insurrections and to repel invasions.” Their resolution describes Mexican cartels as “paramilitary, narco-terrorist organizations that profit from trafficking people and drugs into the U.S.” who are creating a security threat and humanitarian disaster “with overwhelming consequences to residents in the State of Texas.”

quote:

Lee calls on “the Texas governor to make a formal declaration of invasion thereby invoking the state authority under the invasion clause of the U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3.”

He also calls on the governor “as the Commander-in-Chief of the Texas National Guard” to activate and deploy it and other state assets “to detain and return illegal aliens back across the border, turn back illegal aliens crossing from Mexico at the border, and defend Texas against cartel operatives, human traffickers and drug mules moving deadly fentanyl into Texas towns and communities.”

quote:

Scott also called on “the Attorney General of Texas to prepare immediate briefs to counter the federal government’s attempts to prevent Texas from defending its southern border” and the Texas legislature “to pass legislation that actively serves as a deterrent to illegal migration. Texas lawmakers should pass laws that protect Texas communities with a pro citizen agenda that sends a decisive message to all cartel members, illegal aliens, and the federal government alike.”

Joe was just at the border. No illegals to be found. It's all made up to make Biden look bad.

It's an invasion. Orchestrated by those that want to kill this nation. Those people don't have the authority to commit national suicide.

Anyone caught entering any place other than a border crossing should be shot on the spot.

They are. They are letting them in as fast as they can and getting them settled in strategic red parts of the country.

I get that you’re speaking tongue-in-cheek—and I could be wrong—but I’m going to assume you don’t live in a border state.

Do you think the job a minimum wage worker does offsets the following mere handful of expenses to the taxpayer?

- immediate health screenings at the border

- between $579 million and $717 million annually (in Texas alone) for public hospital districts to provide uncompensated care

- between $62 million and $90 million, to include illegal aliens in the state Emergency Medicaid program

- DHS provided assistance (legal, rental, shelters)

- childbirths that occur—often within hours—of crossing the border (between $30 million and $38 million per year on perinatal coverage for illegal aliens through the Children’s Health Insurance Program)

- interim and full-time housing (Texas taxpayers spent $152 million to house illegal criminal aliens for just one year)

- public schooling (between $31 million and $63 million to educate unaccompanied alien children each year)

Those numbers don’t touch a litany of other expenses, such as criminal justice/correctional costs, social services, local and state government taxes and fees (e.g., property, vehicle registration, insurance), etc.

The current federal administration certainly isn't going to do shite about it. The governor of Texas absolutely should deploy. What are the feds going to do about it, start a war? Good, maybe this will be the start of a civil war that is drastically needed.

I don’t disagree.
And it appears we’ve just about reached that point.
That’s the subject of this thread.

So again I ask: What do you think will be the federal response to said action(s) by Texas?
