My gf lives there. If you must do the tourist thing, just be safe if you are downtown. I wouldnt go around at night. Lots of people are completely lost to opioids.

This. It's way different than 10 years ago. Buddy system and no night time walking, IMO.

And watch out for big piles of human feces when walking around. Was there last October and was disgusted by the piles of shite just sitting there in the middle of the sidewalk.
