A thousand years ago when I was attending LSU, Joyce Walker played in several pickup games with us. Based on that, I promise you, anyone in the current WBB starting lineup would embarrass you in a game of one on one.

it's very interesting you say that.

I'm not the poster you were responding to, but I also played pickup ball in the Field House back in the 80s and played once against Joyce Walker. In fact, I'm a guard so I guarded her.

Now, I'll admit she was better than I expected, but she was an All-American and I was just a high school player, but she didn't get the better of me.

So your assertion that a current WBB player would embarrass someone in one-on-one, well, I guess that depends on the guy. If the guy was even a decent high school player, well, I'd put my money on the guy.

And by the way, that's not a shot at the women. It's just different - much like the boys high school team dominating the US Women's Soccer team.

Men are bigger, stronger, faster, and can jump much higher. Those are just facts.

You’re 100% correct. Unpopular fact: A really good high school boys basketball team would beat an excellent college women’s basketball team.

I'm happy the women are doing well. But I do agree the sport is tough to watch IMO. If the girls played a highly ranked boys high school basketball team, the women would get detroyed. That isn't a knock on the women. Just the athleticism is much different.

I remember playing pickup in the Field House back then too .. not against Joyce but with Prop 48 Stanley Roberts. He was OK. I dunked on him (in my dreams). :)
