Is Rickie Collins good enough to start at LSU?

I see a lot of high praise on here for Colin Hurley, people are talking about him the same way that people were talking about Walker up until last week. I would imagine that the biggest beneficiary in Walker leaving would be Rickie Collins. I personally believe that Nuss is too talented not to start somewhere next year and he’s not going to be alright backing up JD for another season and that he leaves in the spring. If we’re under the assumption that Nuss decides not to transfer - this is what the QB room looks like in the near future:
2023 - Daniels
2024 - Nuss
2025 - Nuss
A lot of things can happen between now and then, players can leave early for the NFL, get injured, or transfer. As of now, Colin Hurley is expected to be on campus in 2025. Where does Rickie Collins fall into all of this? Is he alright with being at LSU for 3 full seasons and not starting?

I doubt Nuss is going anywhere at this point.

Yes, but you better ask CBK, his opinion is more valuable.

So you believe he’ll go pro after only 1 full season as a starter?

Collins looked about as good as you can on a HS team. Hopefully that translates to College.

I don’t really care about what CBK has to say on this matter, I’m asking the rant

Not one single person can answer this. It all depends on what type of season he has once he's starting.

He's good enough to start now.
He'll be in the NFL by May 2025.

Yep.
If he starts and lights it up in '23 or '24, his arm strength is gonna get a lot of NFL attention.

With time yes
The times I’ve watched him he is mobile but the impressive thing was the way he stayed focus down field when he did scramble which was a lot because his oline was pretty bad in high school

In reality, if you are fortunate enough to produce a 3 year QB starter, your program will eventually have QB issues....lack of interest from high school players, and the transfer portal depletes the position!
It's hell to be on top!....LOL

Clearly Walker Howard doesn’t believe that or he wouldn’t have gone in the transfer portal. In fact he must be pretty confident Nuss is staying or he would have at least waited until after Spring himself.

QBs that have only started for one year in college and then turned pro don’t have a great track record of success in the NFL. He would be wise to stick around as a starter for 2 years.

Maybe, but maybe not. I think we’ll have a better picture of how things are going to shake out in the spring

How would we know before he has even practiced?
If you made this thread last year about Howard 100% would’ve said yes
