WatchGang Watches

I have an affinity for watches and joined this based on a recommendation. Over 3 months I've received 5 watches. 2 were from the "premium " wheels spin and both Gervil watches. Each was listed much higher on the WatchGang website than what I was able to find online. While I never felt "ripped off' as every site had the watches I obtained for more than the $500 premium it felt pointless.
I also had the black account which is $150 a month and supposed to net you a 200-500 watch I didn't see it. The 3 watches I received were closer to the 150 value instead of what watchgang advertised due to inflated pricing from them. I received 3 Sturhling watches which were not bad but 2 of the 3 were not styles I normally wear. There are no returns, refunds, or anything which hurts.

They didn't ship a citizen win on wheel spin for week or more so I canceled with card. I think they canceled me has a customer.
I don't feel rip off but was all not what I wanted
Also their watches are getting worse IMHO

I have never seen anyone post a list received that seemed worth the cost. There are so many great affordable watches available I almost guarantee someone ca take the same money and be happier buying what they actually want and will wear.

I’d much rather have one $1,800 watch than twelve $150 watches

Well they advertise if you spend X amount of dollars you will get a watch 2-3x the price along with a chance for a Rolex weekly that is valued 10-20k.

I buy parts from China and eBay and make my own watches now.
Highly recommend this hobby.

Which kit did you get to start? I've considered it.

I mean, how do you think these things make money? By sending you junk. They are such a rip off.

Based on recommendations and from what I read I expected some quality pieces along with some junk type pieces.
I'm not saying anything I received was "bad" as everything was above what I paid through watchgang. However, several thing were not the style I wear and several had I flated prices via watchgang. Once you start researching you see what the 3200 watch you think you received can be found for 600 on other sites.

Not building movements. Just buying NH35s and making frankenwatches. Seiko mods and homages.
I’m about to make a rose gold root beer GMT with a sterile dial, then I think I’ll stop for a while.

One thing I highly suggest is buying quality tools, not quite as important if you don't plan to work on movements but still important IMO. You can't go wrong with Bergeon but I know they don't fit everyone's budget, especially when dipping their toe in. I normally suggest everyone buy at least a set of Bergeon screwdrivers. It is nice to have the 10 piece set with the rotating base and ergo handles but the 5 piece set with the .80, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 mm sizes cover the vast majority of uses and you can add singles if you need them later. I don't recommend Chinese tools BUT if you really want to save money buy a set of the Chinese Bergeon knockoffs and buy the real Bergeon tips from Esslinger. The problem with all the small tool tips from China is they are soft as hell which means you will destroy them quickly and it may result in slips and ruining parts.
The above goes for tips for springbar tools/pliers/tweezers. I think a Bergeon 6767F spring bar tool should be the first tool any watch fiddler buys. If they work on 5 digit Rolex or modern Tudor then a set of springbar pliers or tweezers.
ETA I meant to mention watch for cheap Bergeon tools, oddly they get knocked off in China down to the branded yellow box.
