So reviewing expenses/budget and I am getting raked over the coals by State Farm. I want to shop around my insurance, what is the most simple and painless way to accomplish this.

Where are you located? Louisiana?

I’m an Indy but limited in Louisiana as it’s just a tough state right now. Happy to run it through a few carriers to see if you send me your current dec pages Lnobles@noblesinsgroup.com

Either a broker or go shop it yourself online.

Good advice in most parts of the country, but impossible along the gulf coast.

Find a broker with online reviews, and start there.

It's a minefield in south Louisiana when it comes to property and casualty insurance. Don't just take the cheapest offer, do your research first. You want to be with a quality company that isn't leaving the state after the next hurricane. Being picky isn't always possible depending on where you live but you gotta be smart about it otherwise you'll be here bitching and complaining next time you have a claim. Don't make assumptions about what you're covered for and what you're not -- read the policy and exclusions. Don't assume everything State Farm covers you for now will automatically be the same with another policy.
