So it was never an orange, it was the apple the whole time, but Orange Man bad?

Not unlike the people who naively convince themselves every time the media is not lying to them this time.

So here was his explanation of the difference:
"In the DoD world especially when it comes to security violations honesty is the best policy. They understand that makes can happen but it's the lying about them that will get you in the most trouble. If you make a mistake and own up to it. It's almost nothing or maybe a slap in the wrist if you made a major violation. But if you try to cover up or conceal something that's what will get you fired. I can date a foreign national and it's no problem if I report it but if I don't report or lie about that will be what gets me in trouble. Also we judge the severity of the violation. If you have a single "spilliage" incident that's bad but it happens. But if you have many events over time that's a pattern that speaks to carelessness. Biden's event seems much more isolated, fewer documents and open ownership of the issue rather than concealment. Those are night and day differences in this environment. One looks innocent the other deliberate which is a strong indicator of foreign espionage"

You sure you aren’t giving this fella a little assist with that explanation? Maybe filling in a few blanks and adding some other wording? I find it hard to believe a leftist came up with that. I mean, is this a transcript or do you have rote memory?

Ok, I gotcha. Did you check him for remote communication earpiece? Perhaps he had some nondescript book or magazine open in front of him, discreetly holding crib notes??

haven't looked that much into Biden's situation yet, but the explanation I got for why they are different is Biden self-reported it.

Did they? I don't think we have the whole story on Trumps documents...
We do know that there was a back and forth between the Trump folks and the National Archive, and suddenly, the stakes jumped way up and the DOJ and FBI decided to jump in and raid Trump's house. We don't know what triggered the escalation. Was it because Trump was refusing to allow further access or turn over classified documents? Or did the DOJ decide to make political hay by raiding Trumps house on a process violation instead of taking a diplomatic approach?
Trump had announced that John Solomon was going to be given access to the declassified Crossfire Hurricane docs. That's when the division that was responsible for it panicked.

They are correct. A president can declassify documents a VP can not.

I mean, the DOJ did have to get a search warrant to get some of the ones back from Trump, while Biden’s attorneys gave his back when they were discovered. That’s a pretty big distinction without getting into all the minutiae of how each ended up in their possession.
Biden's team waited six years before self-reporting. Are you saying it took that long before that specific box was opened and it was the first time they saw them? How many other boxes does Biden have that haven't been opened yet. Maybe a raid is needed to make sure no other files are on site.
We don't even know if Trump knew he was in possession of the files, or if they were just packed up by a staff member and shipped to his house. Maybe Trump should have been given another 4 years to finish going through his files.
