If you are seriously gonna move the stadiums, ie build new stadiums in the area- then the only correct choice is to move them to (relatively) higher ground and where the population is moving- Build them in Covington or even a little further north…. LOTS of room to build whatever you want, far less prone to flooding and hurricanes (though not 100% immune)- and less of a chance of opportunistic crime following than if you built on Airline in Metairie .. and plenty of pro teams have stadiums far from the metro center, look at the newish Levi Stadium for example , it’s i think over an hour from San Francisco .

Part of the appeal of where the dome is located is everything is within walking distance. You would lose that in Mandeville/Covington. The Shrine on Airline location is not as perfect as the existing dome location but it is still close to the "appeal" of New Orleans.
