Mediterranean Sea Cruise-anyone been? Egypt, Tunisia, Israel, Etc?

I've never been on a cruise, and my wife wants to go to greece. So I was looking at the cruise options, and some of them go to Tunisia, morocco, Israel, Turkey, etc.
The prices aren't terrible but I'm sure you can ball out. I've never been to any of those places, and it seemed like a reasonable way to see A LOT in a shorter period of time with my kids.
8-10 days start in Italy or Greece and then go to say Tunisia, Israel, Turkey, a couple stops in Greece, and then back to port.
Thoughts?

My extended family looked into it for this coming summer but decided the COVID protocols weren't worth the risk.
We looked at multiple options including leaving from Italy, Greece and Turkey. I was leaning toward Turkey because you can fly direct from Atlanta and neither Italy nor Greece have direct flights from there. Prices weren't cheap but not terrible either. I did notice that stops in Greece were short (<8 hours) so know that.

Yeah I'm not a fan of cruises like this because of the short stops. But at the same time being able to see north africa, Greece, Israel, and maybe one other country/ area on the same trip is extremely intriguing.
I also don't know how much you'll actually be able to see/ experience in those places with only 8-10 hours and in a cruise port slammed with people.

We did a 12 day Adriatic/Amalfi Coast cruise on Royal Caribbean four or five years ago. Left from Rome, hit Naples, Sicily, Montenegro, Slovenia, Dubrovnik, and Corfu, Greece. Pretty damn good cruise, honestly. We have a 7 day Western Mediterranean booked for August. Starts in Barcelona, ends in Rome. Port vists in Cannes, Nice, Genoa, Portofino, and Florence. Should be a good time.

A cruise is not my favorite way to see Europe because they don't spend enough time in port, especially during nighttime dinner hours. That said, I have been on a Mediterranean cruise and enjoyed it very much. It was a Holland America cruise that began and ended in Rome and went to Monte Carlo, the South of France and various ports in Italy.
We were supposed to go to Tunisia. When we woke up that morning we went on deck to find that the ship was stopped in the turning basin within sight of the coast. It was not raining but the winds were gusting to 70 MPH. We had to hold on to the railings to walk on deck.
After sitting there for over an hour, the Captain came over the loudspeaker and informed us that we would not be able to dock in Tunisia because of high winds and rough seas. I got to see Africa but didn't step foot on it. We turned around and headed for Sicily.
Oh well. We decided to go have a good breakfast in the dining room. As soon as our food arrived, the fire alarm sounded and the captain came on and said that this was not a drill and ordered the firefighting team to their stations. Terrific. Here we were off the coast of North Africa on a floating inferno in tropical storm force winds.
About 10 minutes later the captain came back on, praised the heroic firefighters, and said that everything was now under control. What had happened was that a smoke bomb that was designed for fire drills had gone off accidentally.
So much for a nice relaxing breakfast.
But to answer your question, yes, a Mediterranean cruise is a very enjoyable vacation.

Basically the itinerary we're doing in August. We booked a Monte Carlo excursion a couple of weeks ago.

I once had a Navy port visit to Alexandria, Egypt get canceled at the last minute. Had to go to Somalia instead. No pyramids for me.

Another aircraft carrier I was cruising on caught fire. Took a few hours to put it out. Can't remember if I missed chow or not.

I would check out Seabourn. Doing our first cruise - swore I’d never do one - in April. Starts in Cape Verde with stops in Canary Islands, Casablanca, Lisbon, Cherbourg, Bruges and finishes in London. Smaller ship, about 250 passengers
