Because they believe they are taking job opportunities from Americans and causing unemployment to rise.

In reality they are working and filling voided positions due to Americans being paid by the government and rewarded for choosing not to work.

New Orleans could use a lot of the illegal immigrants since so many businesses claim to not have enough people willing to work.

Imagine if we didn’t pay people to not work and enforced immigration law. I bet the workers would make actual living wages and the country, especially inner cities would be much better.

American taxpayers pay well over $100 billion paying for medical, school, and other benefits these illegals get while they not only not pay taxes but send hundreds of billions of US currency back home and out of our economy.

Which is why many more will be necessary in the future, as Americans see themselves above low wage jobs.

In theory, migration slows or reverses in times of economic slowdowns in the USA as it has a few times in the past. It should be more self regulating. Govt incentives have messed the market up however.

Taking jobs? Low paying jobs that people refuse to work for these days? I hear people bitching about nobody wants to work because they are "woke socialists"(Home Depot Owner just said that) yet you don't want to let in immigrants who are going to work those jobs for less pay. They keep the country running like it or not. Roofing, Concrete, Builders, Restaurant staff/cooks, cleaning/housekeeping, hotels, landscapers etc etc.

They’re not taking jobs from people that don’t want them. They’re taking jobs away from Americans. They’re taking work away from licensed contractors, for sure. Certainly you’ve been to Home Depot.
