Higher ranked recruits/more hyped players coming in getting more reps in practice vs it being a fair workload and seeing who emerges would be my guess

There is only so much coaching time and practice reps, and the coaches have to decide to whom they will give it. Early on they made the pecking order, and no one did anything to get demoted.

Probably because BK has stated, from the beginning, he wanted a different body type for a TE.
Just like him indicating he prefers a running style QB.

Exactly. I was just thinking that he and Neighbors started the race at the same spot. It's just one may have been in more practices than the other and healthier than the other. We started hearing about shin splints near the start of fall camp. Is he saying that wasn't the case?
