He tweeted that he was staying in College Station.

Im assuming that means we'll play in the portal for another LB.

They can keep them. The ones they got are no more committed to that school and program than I am. And it shows. Let them take that aggy money

ETA: undoubtedly he and his camp wanted to test the market and didn’t find any better offers so he’s “committed” to them again

The Aggies said he was just looking for a raise, didn’t like making less than the freshman backups. Can’t blame him.

The fact that we feel a type of way over schools "buying" players for the first time or again is kind of strange. Isn't that the name of the game now? In most free agent scenarios the most money wins. If we refuse to pony then we sink as a program. That's no one's fault but our own if the case

So are you a winner when you buy a loser?

He’s mediocre anyways. I do hope we pursue Justin Flowe and Mason Cobb though they’d be great for our defense

I haven’t read that we’re even pursuing either guy which imo is a mistake. Cobb is a really good extremely productive player who plays fast and has really good instincts. Flowe has all the talent in the world just has been often injured. Had a 14 tackle game when he was healthy last and flashes why he was a 5 star and the top LB in the country coming out. Big, fast, and physical.

Dude probably didn't get the interest he thought he was gonna get honestly.

I have read up on both and followed flowe. I was just wondering if we were actually pursuing them.

Flowe is a body builder trying to play football. No thanks. Cobb is not interested in us. Read he’s likely headed to Texas or aTm.

Decent players with no intention to leave but just looking for a 'raise' will employ this strategy no doubt. The next phase of NIL negotiation. Pretty soon it might be as commonplace as opt outs.

A&M was awful in run defense. Cooper was their main experienced LB and he was terrible all season.

WTF would we want their Thomas Dunston level LB? Seriously, I know he is from Louisiana, but he isn’t actually a very good football player. Glad he tied up more money from them to play at a mediocre to bad level of football. Win for LSU.

This isn’t my understanding.

He was getting a lot of interest, hence him listening. He is a starter on a pretty solid D.
He made the play of the game against LSU.
I have no doubt that A&M stepped up on the NIL side.

FWIW, I’m not guessing on this info.
