A state can’t declare independence; a referendum and vote of the people must occur.

And yes … once Texas and the U.S. divorce, the floodgates will open.

Who says they can't? If they declare independence, they declare independence.

Pretty sure this is inaccurate. The Texas constitution allows for this. This is based on an interview I heard from a TEXIT official.

Before anything could happen the Supreme Court would need to reverse Texas v White.
