I figured that part had to be real. I was being serious though I really liked it. All of the scenes with the tank crew working together were awesome to watch.

Another scene I liked was when they are taking the city and the German's get hit with what I think was supposed to be a white phosphorous shot and are running out burning. One of the soldiers is about to start shooting when another guy signals him not to shoot and says something like "naw they cooking". Absolutely ruthless.

I just finished a rewatch of this, and I had no idea it was sort of hated by this board (at least partially). I think it’s really good, even the battle scenes. The tank scene in the field is well done and at least seems realistic enough (unless you have some real world knowledge of tanks). And the final battle scene is a little ridiculous, especially the ineptitude of the Germans, but it’s still pretty well done, and believable enough within the framework of the movie (considering they surprise attacked a mostly-walking force of soldiers with very little anti tank weaponry).

I don’t get the hate on this one at all, even the final battle scene.
