Long term, you have to believe this will be a deal. Right?
Any legit reasons against?

Besides the fact that teslas are just a bigger version of those power wheel barbiemobiles I would say that the most important factor is that he’s no longer a darling of the left and when the “lefties” (hint hint wink wink) start pulling their hedge funds out of your stock it never does anything good again
This is why gun stocks trade so flat
Tesla will go to 40 at some point next year

That might be true, but I don't think of TESLA as purely a car company.
I think Musk is going to hand Twitter over to a CEO once he has sent it off in the right direction and focus on his baby.

IMO, Tesla's ridiculous prices never made sense to me. Tesla's market cap is still about 2x that of Toyota. However, Toyota will sell over 1M more cars than Tesla this year. Every car manufacturer is making electric cars now.

Still no self driving
Still no solar roofs
Still no cybertruck
Still no Semi
Why would anyone buy this stock?

I'm staging my rebuys in the $90-$145 range. Will get uglier before the bottom is in imho.

It is still VERY expensive and trading at a P/E of approximately 50. I'd hold off until that gets closer to 35, but then, it is obviously still on the expensive side.
Are you just trying to play the greater fool theory? Most are with this stock due to it's popularity.

One of the more interesting aspects to this is all these people like Jason Debolt who went all in on TSLA years ago, were up tens of millions, and haven't sold a share and now have watched most of that wealth evaporate. They haven't lost any conviction and are talking about selling their house to buy more TSLA at these prices, lol.
They should've seen the writing on the wall when Elon and Kimbal sold at ~$1,200 (pre split) late last year. Could've sold then and bought back over 2X as many shares at today's prices.

This isn't true. They're (slowly) starting to ship semis.

Nope.
Not till under $100.
Like one poster said everyone is making EV's.
I've heard Tesla's strength is the battery technology. They have a few patents on battery technology.

This is true, plus they've been making roadworthy EVs for a long, long time. Their experience advantage is relatively unmatched. That gap will close as the traditional car makers gain that experience as well, but it is still heavily in Tesla's favor.

There's no price, there's no hauling capacity. Tesla has delivered some beta test vehicles to haul chips, and a Christmas float.
They are definitely NOT "shipping" semi's.

i agree, it feels like if the S&P hits a capitulation bottom, like in the 3,000-3,300 range, that TSLA might hit $80-100 which would be a good entry for a new long term hold. I love the company but the valuation is still too high. Happy to have most of my chips in SpaceX instead.

Tesla doesn't have battery technology, you do know Panasonic makes their batteries right? It's Panasonic's technology.

Batteries are much better than what is out there in the market currently.
Supercharging network is years ahead of everyone else.
Actual software updates instead of getting locked into in-car tech that loses its value/relevancy over time.
Full self driving, AI, and all the other stuff is just a bonus.
Elon has created more shareholder wealth than any other CEO breathing. I'll hold and keep believing in him and his vision. Probably look to buy some more around the 125 area if it gets there.

About to break $150 support right now, yikes.

Tesla is more than a car company. They are digitally mapping the roads in real time and every day updating their AI based on driving patterns . I believe this I is much more valuable than the car sales alone.
