He looked ok at running back. Ran upright.

That’s weird; when he couldn’t get on the field at S we went out of the way to give him carries. Should inspire some loyalty.

This would be a somewhat big loss. Not just for safety depth, but if we don't get an RB in the portal, he proved to be a good rotational back late in the season.

He was never going to be a contributor at safety and he only got carries at RB during garbage time of the UAB game.

Why are we acting like this is a big deal?

I really don't get him not waiting until May.

The running back job is open. If he blows up in the spring he could grab it. It's essentially him, Williams and Cain. And Williams and Cain are really complementary/situational backs. Williams is a change of pace guy and Cain is a short yardage/goal line back.

This tells me that we're bringing somebody in from the portal. Or that Emery and/or Goodwin are planning on being back next year.

Really odd that we signed two top 5 safeties in 2021 (both top 100 nationally) with Davis and Ryan, and neither really seemed to live up to their recruiting rankings.

Maybe this is why he wanted a redshirt last season

But he's portal eligible, and that seems to be where people think he's going.

Because the head coach literally relied on recruiting rankings and not evaluations when recruiting players.

Where on earth did this come from? When healthy he was always 1a or 1b this year.

I mean everyone thought Sage Ryan was exceptional, can't really kill Orgeron for that.

I mean, recruits don’t always work out. In both Davis and Ryan’s cases, both their careers are too young to call them disappointments.
