Wife and 1.5 year old headed west to knock another NP off the list (goal is to visit them all). Flying into Denver June 23rd and staying in Estes Park the 25th-28th and Grand Lake 28th-30th.
Hiking suggestions? He’ll be on my back so limited to 5miles out and back.
Restaurants?

Dream and Emerald lakes are a relatively easy hike and worth the views. Hit up Cinnamon’s bakery before your hikes, they sell out of rolls fast.

I’d recommend Mills Lake. The Loch is also special, but if I only had one to choose from, I’d do Mills. The Mills-Loch-Haiyaha-Dream-Nymph loop is a solid day. Might be a little more than 5 miles but you’ll love it.

For restaurants in Estes Park, I'd recommend Seasoned (though not sure about bringing a toddler there) and
Bird and Jim. Like someone else said, don't miss the cinnamon roll place!

Make sure to get the “tickets” which the idiots at the Nat Park System put in place during covid. They are required for the best hikes.

Bear Lake is a pretty easy hike. I’m assuming you plan to take Trail Ridge Road to Grand Lake. There are several decent hikes along the road. The views are incredible.
We rented a pontoon boat on Shadow Mountain Lake which was pretty nice. Not sure I would do that with a toddler though.

Was just there in September. Estes park has limited access and you need tickets to get in at specific times. Check out their website for details. Best time slots get taken up quickly.

I loved that decision. Cut down on park traffic. Trails were empty early in the morning. It’s not hard to prepare or wake up early.

They are also expanding the number available the night before from like 10% to 40%, so there will be availability the day before. Also, the park would be unbearable without the reservation system.

I don't have a problem with that but do for trails like Angel's Landing (the issue there is it is a lottery system rather than a permit).
