LSU listed as a suitor for him. Apparently he even considered transferring to LSU after his Freshman year.

Mizzou transfer WR Dominic Lovett
-846 receiving yards in 2022 (3rd in SEC)
-56 catches (6th in SEC), 3 TDs
-85.5 receiving grade (led SEC)
-Only Power 5 WR to not have a single drop while being targeted at least 70 times this season

Lovett also split time as a return man at Mizzou as well. Great hands and explosive guy after the catch. We have some good WRs returning for sure but Lovett would be a hell of an addition to that room and is proven to be one of the best in the SEC

I feel like with Boutte coming back it takes us out the running here but would love to be wrong.

He was high school teammates with Luther Burden and has kind of been in his shadow since HS. He's really fricking good though.

This is a move built on getting his NFL tape together. He (probably rightly) doesn't think that Mizzou with either Brady Cook or a RS Frosh that played one series starting next year he won't get the kind of opportunities to show off for the league that he should.

That makes me think that for us to be a true threat to land him, we would have to be committing to more of a passing attack in 2023.

Of course LSU would love to have him, but so would pretty much every other school in the country.

Would be a real coup.

Oh yeah, this isn't about deciding if we should take him. It would be about beating out other schools for him.

I'm probably biased because I've seen him play a bunch, but he's the best WR in the portal in my opinion.

He was 1st team all sec if I’m not mistaken. If he wants in add him to the room.

Edit: on one of the sources I saw I should clarify!

I think that depends on who the expected QB is.

And I get there is only one ball to go around, but Thomas and Lovett are completely different WRs with complementary skillsets.

Maybe he can swap places with Bech leaving?

Would be a massive upgrade over Bech. Lovett is a game changer at receiver
Boutte
Nabers
Lovett
Thomas Jr

Would be the best WR core in the country. That’s not even including the likes of Hilton coming back from injury and Sampson, Brown, Prean, and Parker coming in from the HS ranks. Lovett is an electric return man too dating back to his High School days at power house East St Louis.

Luther Burden was the punt returner at East St Louis.

My point was more of with Boutte coming back there's not enough balls to go around to keep Him, Boutte and Nabers all happy. I'm sure he's looking for a place to feature him, not be a #2/#3 potentially or split a lot of catches with a few other elite guys.

Marshall, Chase, and Jefferson worked out! Why can’t Nabors, Boutte, and Lovett workout?

Because Joe Burrow is gone and we have a QB who runs the ball 100+ times a year

The day two selections in the second and third round will all receive four-year contracts. The top second-round pick will sign a deal estimated to be a four-year, $8.68 million contract which includes a $3.87 million signing bonus, per Over the Cap. The last pick of the second round has a four-year, $5.24 million contract with a $1.37 million signing bonus.

LSU just has to get better at their passing attack, and that goes all the way around. LSU threw the ball 34 times a game this year. LSU has 3400 passing yards on the year.
