I would find it interesting to play Daniels 1st quarter, Nuss 2nd quarter and Howard 3rd quarter. Play it by ear 4th quarter. Gives each meaningful playing time and possibly keeps all of them engaged until the spring. Thoughts?

There’s nothing to be gained from playing JD.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Howard if Nuss either struggles or puts them away early though.

You play the starters who have earned it.

Umm a) to try and win b) I don’t know why people don’t think there is a very good chance JD is the starter next year c) use the bowl game to jumpstart the offseason and go into spring with momentum

You use those practice and game reps to get Nuss ready to pay back FSU.
ETA: and put Howard in a position to compete in the Spring and continue to develop should Nuss have the year we want and leave early.

How do you know he will be the starter in that game?

Maybe he’s not, because Howard grabs the job with both hands.
My point is getting those two guys max reps.

JD and Nuss in the backfield together. If snapped to Nuss he throws or hands off to JD. If snapped to JD he runs (ie: wildcat) except for a few throws to mix things up.
I don't think any of our running backs are better runners than JD. Except Williams for short yardage situations.

Never said it would happen, just that it would be interesting. So many comments are made of JD’s inability to throw downfield, thencwe hear about how the coach’s know best who the number 1 guy is. Yet coaches seldom give QBs meaningful playing time until they “earn” the job, then we hear how they are inexperienced and need real game experience to develop and get comfortable with the speed of the game.

Saban did that in the Bowl in Orlando after the 2004 season. It was a disaster.

Yea and he had the balls to do something similar in a NC game too…maybe he learned something from 2004. Just sayin
