Realistically, I don’t see how you could push the QB that just got you to an SEC championship out the door.

On the other hand letting a guy with a ton of potential like Nuss walk doesn’t feel great either. Especially considering the perceived connection he has the the WR group. Is it possible that we lose some talent at WR if Nuss leaves? Maybe , idk.

If Nuss does walk we still have Howard and Ricky Collins in the QB room with Collin Hurley coming in 2024.

IMO, I think CBK will let Nuss walk. Not saying that’s what I want, but I just don’t see JD leaving and I don’t see CBK pushing him out for Nuss. Which really leaves Nuss no option but to transfer.

Huge Freeze and YellaWood probably have a $250k NIL offer on the table for Nuss right now.

ETA: corrected "Yellow Wood" to YellaWood.

I am not saying he will but I think Purdue would be a perfect team for Nuss to start against. Above average team. Not a great pass rush. It would be a good team for BK to see exactly what Nuss can do if he is given the keys.

Situation? The best player will play….. that’s not a situation. I’m willing to bet, there’s no “situation” in that building.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't think you have to push either out. State that it's an open competition in the spring and that he's open to a two QB system next year. If either decide to leave under those conditions, so be it.

If Jaden is healthy I am sure he will start.

I honestly think Daniels enters the draft.

I think Nuss has the best shot at starting next year. He will have to fix the turnover issues, this is a big reason why he didn't see the field this year imo. CBK plays a ball control style of football, control the line of scrimmage and don't turn the ball over.

Interested to see what Howard has to offer.

He needs to sit down with JD and have an honest conversation about JD is not an NFL QB, he’s a gifted athlete but he’s too limited as a passer to be a QB in the league. He needs to be used as a Taysom Hill, an athlete that you use all over the field, a wildcat QB and WR.

JD5 was great all season for us. Not taking anything away from him. Definitely wouldn’t have had the season we had without him.

With that said, do I think Nuss gives our offense the best chance to score? Absolutely. WRs are the biggest scoring threat that we have.
Idk if I can watch another full season of zero pass progression and not taking shots downfield. When teams figured out Daniels, our offense was stagnant. As we have seen many times, LSU does not need a dual threat QB to win championships

Good observation. Realism is not often considered on this board, but JD is your starter next Fall.

FWIW, Walter Football is picking Daniels as the 6th QB in the draft.

That little midget in Tuscaloosa pushed a two year starter aside for a freshman IN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

That used car salesman in South Cackalacky benched a senior in favor of a true freshman to get them to a national title.

Sometimes you have to hurt someone's feelings in order to move forward.

I would love to see Nuss get significant PT in the bowl game to see if he has turned a corner. If he has, then maybe the future is here.

Wish JD luck and thank him for what he gave us this season.

Nuss/WH fit his scheme better than JD does.

If I’m BK, I try to keep Nuss and WH which I think WH would stick around for

It is also about roster management.

If BK thinks Howard is truly the future, I believe he lets Nuss walk, if you start Nuss and bench JD next season Howard is gone.

Whether that would be the right decision or not, I don't know, really no one knows but it is something I'm sure he will consider.

If I had to put money on it, I'd put money on JD keeping his job and nuss transferring. Again not saying it's right or wrong but it's just what I feel will happen

I f he is not willing to give Nuss some meaningful snaps in the bowl game, I do not know what to think of BK's ability to understand the position of QB. It would be very Milesesque.

Oregon got to the NC with Darron Thomas and unofficially pushed him to enter the draft; I think he went undrafted. His replacement was Mariota.
