Watching LSU and Jayden Daniels

Think back on the last several games. Jayden goes back to pass. You immediately say to yourself “please let it go”, knowing it likely ain’t happening. So then, “please run and get the first down”. This is not sustainable, and won’t be next year.
Jayden probably got this team to over achieve this year, but we need a mobile quarterback that can let it rip and give our talented receivers the opportunity to change the game.
My hope tomorrow is that he proves me wrong. But it may further illustrate the point and tee up a change next year.

People dont want to hear it.
Don’t bring up Jayden’s play will never lead us to a National title.

I don't think anyone has been more critical of Daniels than I have been, but he was the QB we needed this year.

He is a good QB and thought of in much higher regards nationally than most LSU fans think. I do think his consistent inability to throw 50/50 balls to the receivers is his biggest problem plus he usually isn't looking to throw once he takes off running. Glad he is our QB and hopefully he comes back and works on his risk averse mental hurdles as a QB

Yep. Made that assertion in my post. But it’s about 2023. That’s my point.

JD needs an entire offseason of work before he makes any meaningful jump.
Before 2019, Burrow said he focused on 1 thing all off season, which was throwing on the run…. with high accuracy.
In JD’s case, it will be stepping up in the pocket, not throwing behind his receivers, throwing on the run, reading defenses pre snap, and throwing the ball away.

If he returns, he’s your starter.

I don't think Nuss or Walker are gonna want to sit another year coach Kelly.

Nuss is gone, regardless, Walker will sit as a RSF.

Without Jayden Daniels we are a 6 win team instead of a 9 win team. We don’t beat Alabama, Mississippi State or Florida without Jayden Daniels.
He isn’t perfect by any means but we’re in the SEC championship game because of him. This board would have you believe it’s in spite of him but this board, much like you, is moronic.

Throwing on the run isn't his biggest problem.
His biggest issue is that he sees plays in a snapshot, not a .gif.
Let me explain: he gets the snap looks to his primary and sees him covered (unless it's a quick).
Because of his poor pre-snap read, he goes to the next guy. He is covered. Now, he runs.
What he fails to see is either WR may have leverage on the DB for his cut. The safety may already be leaning to a different receiver, this opening up an area for him to throw.
I lost count of how many times he took off just as a receiver was breaking open. The SkyCam and low end zone cameras showed this all the time.
This also meshes with his trust in his legs more than his receivers. Against lesser competition it works. Against more talented teams, it works only once in a while.

Walker isn’t going anywhere. If Jayden come back Nuss leaves. If Jayden goes pro Walker and Nuss battle it out. Good chance Walker wins and Nuss leaves.
With all due respect I love Nuss but I also don’t give a frick about Nuss. The program is bigger than any one player.

What does tee up a change mean? Specifically?
Posted on 12/3/22 at 12:44 am to TNoon
Tee up a change means the coaches making a definitive changeover for the future. That means opting for a quarterback that is well rounded and can run an offense the way it is designed and intended.

Jordan Anthony Brandon Daniels doesn’t need to quarterback another game for LSU when Nuss and Howard are right there.

umm.. if LSU wants a consistent qb for the near future then Howard will definitely get starts next year.
Any good qb will play through their Junior year and go pro.
Your old school logic doesn't hold merit in todays game with the amount of money involved sitting and the transfer portal.
That being said - Walker Howard will have one year here and move on ... or move on via the transfer portal if he doesn't get his shot.
any 5* recruit would be foolish to stay with any program not starting them consistently in their 2nd year. Any program would be foolish to think they have a monopoly on players... especially with LSU and quarterbacks.
SO - 2nd year starter or they have he qb position for 1 year and start over again with a new player.
Personally, Id rather have Howard started this year and get his lumps out of the way. At least receivers would be more inclined to come to BR with the promise of being thrown the ball.
so guy - with your theory the best LSU could ever hope for is a 1 year starter or miraculous transfers.

You can preach this all day but many won’t believe it and don’t see the game in the manner you need to to realize he hinders the true potential of this offense because of his poor pre and post snap reads and not throwing “on time”. Just like some would try to say the line didn’t block well against aTm and that’s why he was pressured and it’s the total opposite. They did a masterful job of pass blocking against aTm and he stayed in the pocket too long without seizing an opportunity. He had windows of opportunity many times early in the play to hit a receiver and would not do it or didn’t see it because of poor reads. I’ve seen him many times throughout the season have one on one on the outside and at the snap, looks to the other side of the field.

Those of us who understand the game of American football have seen this since the spring.
