Planning a trip for late May early June
Anyone with some tips on this itinerary? Should we leave off the Algarve area?
Fly into Lisbon on a Friday, After the 2 nights in Lisbon, we will rent a car on Sunday and do a road trip
Lisbon: 2 nights
Evora area: 1 night
Lagos (Algarve) area: 3 nights
Coimbra area: 1-2 nights
Douro: 2 nights
Porto: 3 nights
Lisbon: 1 night then catch return flight

Thank you. I've read though many of the Portugal posts, but I haven't seen too much on Southern Portugal.
Went to Basque area a few years ago. It's a highlight. Don't skip over Bilbao....

Noted.
Do you plan on driving from Porto to Douro? Or taking a train, boat, etc.?

We will be driving. What about on your trip?
I've gotten a few guides names and contacts , along with a taxi service that can drive our group around while we are in Pinhao so everyone can wine taste.

I've fine Lisbon and explored the surrounding areas such as Sintra. Awesome country with plenty to do and very cheap honestly.

No expert but I did return recently from a trip there. I'm reluctant to tell anyone how to travel but that seems entirely too rushed for my blood.
We arrived on a Monday morning and stayed in Lisbon until Thursday and took the train to Porto. Did a day trip to Douro Valley on Monday. Took the train back to Lisbon on Wednesday. Flew out Thursday morning. And I would have liked to have one more day in Lisbon.
Now granted we were there in the fall so Lagos didn't really make sense compared to the summer. And in hindsight I would have liked to stay in Douro overnight instead of a day trip. Two nights is probably too much.
Again all my opinion based on my own preferences but happy to answer any questions.

Valid points. Thank you. In general we tend to move pretty quickly when we travel and like to keep moving, but maybe we should slow it down. Lagos and Douro were there for our slow days, the other days are for higher pace. I think we will add a day to porto and 2 more days for Lisbon.

If you don't mind, could you share their info? Trying to look into a guided tour for Douro but it's a bit overwhelming.

Possibly try out the Devour Food tour in Lisbon. We have tried their tours in other cities (San Sebastian and Madrid) and both were excellent.
A few places that I have on my list to maybe hit based on some research in Lisbon are:
Mercado da Ribeira
Trobadores - Taberna Medieval
Cervejaria Ramiro (mentioned above)
As Bifanas do Afonso- lunch
Jesus é Goês- kinda Indian meets Portuguese
O Gaiteiro
Ponto Final- great views on the waterfront
If you go to any of them, please post about them
