re: We really came out flat with the playoffs on line. That’s why I’m concerned.

I am very concerned with the fact Kelly didn’t have these boys ready to play. You really had a win and you’re in scenario waiting in Atlanta.
It sucked, but this team is looking like 05 LSU right now to me. Remember how, for all their toughness and heart through that season, they finally just ran out of steam and hit the wall against UGA in the SECCG? That’s what Sat looked like to me. We already had a short handed roster and we lost two of our most dependable leaders on the field this week. We don’t have the depth to replace guys like Williams and JBC today. Do you really think that not having those two in a road game, which we’ve struggled in all season, didn’t matter?
Also, I keep seeing people talking about a “lack of fire” as if the team just stopped giving a shite or got full of themselves. They were playing with house money before the Bama game, but being the hunted and dealing with expectations is a totally different thing.
It sucks how the team played Saturday, but whatever their mindset was, they just aren’t ready to be the hunted yet. Between that and being thin already and beat to shite at this point, they broke down. If that surprises you, then you must not watch much football. 2019 was a deep veteran team with strong leadership and they STILL had their share of struggles. I love this year’s team, but they are about as far away from that as you can get.
It’s not like we haven’t seen this before, either. Hell, UT did the same thing against USC less than two weeks ago, who then turned around and beat Clemson this weekend. UT is a year ahead of us rebuilding, but they still weren’t able to keep it together on the field or evidently in their locker room with Banks acting a fool. Do you think they are poorly coached because they had one bad game?

I was thinking the same. Really wish we had a bye before the SECCG.
