In his defense, he did bring in a veteran Heisman winning former 1st overall pick for a QB friendly coach to coach. And he brought in a really good backup QB.
Some of the personnel decisions and draft picks are very questionable though.

They tried multiple times to get a QB post Drew. It’s just really hard.

And that coach was happy to have him until he had to actually coach him, then he split after one year.
This team had a 5-game losing streak at one point last year. But keep apologizing for Payton and ignore the fact he left a steaming pile of shite behind that he helped create.

Mahomes was the best QB prospect Payton had ever seen but didn’t deem it necessary to trade up a small amount to secure this generational talent.

IMHO Mrs. Benson is not going to try to hurt Sean Payton and Mrs. Payton's future prospects by demanding a high price in draft picks for Payton's services. That is what I believe, and I won't change my mind until factual events prove me wrong.
