What part of metairie is charming? I’ve honestly never seen anything charming in metairie but I’d love to know where to look. I’m being serious. Please educate me.

I used to live right on the 17th Street Canal, about a mile north of Metarie Road but still south of I-10. I remember knowing all my neighbors and going to parades on Metairie Road for St. Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras. We'd walk up and down the levee. The public schools were excellent (Haynes and Metairie Academy). There were so many great places to eat and things to do. Those were some of the best days of my life.

I've been in Atlanta almost 10 years now, but I still question my decision to leave. I seldom go back so I don't really know what it's like there now.
