It was done, but then we beat aTm and Miles was carried off the field. The deal died right before that game. Miles “changed” the offense over the offseason and laid a dud against Wisconsin at Lambeau. Bring in Ed O a few games later.

I still think Herbstreit was right and that was going to happen until Pitt beat WVU later that night and changed everything.
The Gruden/Tennessee nonsense is still my favorite coaching rumor. Tennessee fans swore up and down that was a lock.
