Rookie question but could I buy a gun online if I live in Portland?

you've got to do NICS no matter where you buy a gun so you'll be in the DB regardless of where/how you buy them.

I don't know if that counts as being on the radar to you.

I'm sure Oregon is getting close to Cali in that there are about 3 guns that are "compliant."

ideally.. you want to move somewhere that's actually in America and buy 30 guns and 100 mags tomorrow.

The anti-police people passed a law that gives police more power.

Measure 114, often referred to as the Reduction of Gun Violence Act, will require background checks, firearm training, fingerprint collection and a permit to purchase any firearm.

now apply the same standard to voting, exercising your chosen religion, and speech

Like one poster explained it doesn't matter. Any firearm bought online can only be transferred to another FFL holder and from there all state and federal regs apply. So even if you bought say a Glock G17 with 17rd magazines, the mags couldn't be shipped and you would still have Oregon's new law to contend with once it arrives at the FFL holder.

I don't know what you own but if you have magazines with a capacity to hold more than 10 rounds, those will be illegal to possess regardless when you bought them.
