I anchored mine into the fascia on my house in two spots and our outside office on the third. Just keep in mind they are under a great deal of tension to get them taught. Mine is not waterproof, just a dense screen that lets the rain flow through. The material of the shade itself is a bit stretchy as well. It was a lot of effort getting it tight. Corner to corner trying to build more tension.
I only say all that because any post tall enough to be above your head will have to be beefy to handle it. The tension is probably in the 100 lb range on each corner.
