Our basketball opponent Wednesday night - UMKC

The University of Missouri-Kansas City basketball team was defeated last night 59-56 by Division II Lincoln University of Missouri.
Lincoln University went 4-23 last year as a DII school.
the weird part is UMKC was a solid team last year, going 19-12, 12-6 in the Summit League.
Hope we win this one by 30+

I’d actually recommend it if y’all want to watch LSU baseball, MBB and WBB games early in the season

LSU's non-conference schedule looks really weak. And this doesn't look to be one of those Wade schedules where there aren't a lot of "big name" mid-major opponents who will quietly help LSU's metrics/NET ratings. This just looks like a weak schedule. Of course, that may be by design given there is a completely new staff, with only 3 players who played at LSU last season. I think the first month or two of the season will be McMahon and the players just trying to figure out what is the identity of the team.
I think 10-3 in non-conf. play is a very reasonable baseline given the schedule. There are no true road games on that schedule and the Thanksgiving tournament field looks really weak. Texas Tech and Wake Forest are the only notable opponents, but one game is at home and the other is a neutral site.
They will have to stack up wins a plenty in November and December because the SEC, for the second year in a row, did LSU no favors with an absolutely brutal January schedule.

You're not wrong, it's one of the weakest OOC schedules I've ever seen us play. We do have Texas Tech in SEC/B12 showdown later during conference play season, but before conference play Wake Forest is currently by far the toughest team we play which is pretty
I will say there's that Cayman Island Classic tournament but it's loaded with pretty meh teams overall. We start off by playing Illinois State who was 13-20 last year, so that wont help anything. We play the winner of Akron/Western Kentucky after that, which both those teams are real solid mid-majors so that should at least give us 1 decent OOC game, and should we win that play hopefully a pretty decent team from the other bracket. Could be Jalen Cook's Tulane team...

The OOC schedule doesn't really give LSU much margin for error in terms of a potential NCAAT bid. Last year's OOC schedule was pretty weak too (at least the weakest in the Wade tenure). However, LSU went 12-1 against that schedule and dominated pretty much everyone but Penn St. (and TCU). That's why LSU was a projected #1 seed...in late December.
LSU only went 9-9 in SEC play. But that, combined with their tremendous defensive metrics, and 12 OOC wins was enough to earn them a #6 seed. I'm not expecting LSU to be a #6 seed this season...or even make the tournament. But, if they can get 11, 12, 13 OOC wins, which seems very much possible given the schedule, a .500 record against a tough SEC schedule could be enough to get them into the tournament.
I expect LSU to win tomorrow, but otherwise have no expectations. I'm just curious to see what they look like in terms of style of play. After 5 years you knew what Wade emphasized and what he didn't. For the first time in 5 years we don't know what to expect.
