Vegas was essentially setting a line that public money would have to fall close to 50/50 since people don’t typically bet against Bama unless it’s a massive number.

Vegas is not in the business of predicting games, they’re in the business of making money by way of manipulating money by the lines they place.

LSU -3 is a classic sell high spot for sharps, buy high for squares, and Kelly needs to have these men off of cloud nine and surfaced starting tomorrow…

And I believe he will.

That is repeated often and completely wrong. They set the UGA-Tennessee line to entice public money on UT and raked it in on UGA for instance.

I agree but still find it weird how they get spot on more times than not. It's eerie.

This isn't true. There are numerous, numerous games that will have bets by count and dollar amount that are way off of 50/50. You can see many 80/20 games all while the line stays static or may move a point or two. So indeed yes Vegas will set lines they think are more accurate compared to what public believes, and they don't just move the line to where it's 50/50 on each side by dollar amount.
