Link for reference. Reading that thread will brighten your day. Looking for recommendations on a GPS tracking collar or attachment for my lab. I've been saying I was going to pull the trigger and after following that thread, it pushed me over the edge. I've looked at the Tractive, Findster and the Fi series. The yearly subscription for LTE Cellular service for the GPS is not a problem. I'm not too interested in a training collar or the Air Tag/WiFi-Bluetooth only systems as they only work where those systems are available. Appreciate your recommendations.

I have never used the gps tracking collars, but I use Garmin for all of my collars and GPSes. Surely there is a collar that syncs with one of their GPSes that could double as a regular GPS.

I have/ had tractive for my dogs. Mixed feelings.

The way it attaches to the collar is complete BS, it's just a rubber band basically. My dogs go into the woods and it rips off. I bought a 3D printed carrier for it on Etsy, my dog lost it in the woods within 8 hours. I have the free replacement deal for the tracker but it's a pain in the arse.

As far as service, I live in an area with somewhat spotty service and areas with good service. Half the time the collar does not connect, and by the time it does, here comes my dog out of the woods. I do not recommend these cheap trackers. It doesn't even give peace of mind.

Waiting until it cools off to go hunt these 2 down. I'm not tigerdad

I've started looking at spoton and halo which seems to get better reviews, and a lot more functionality. It has the ability to set up virtual fences to keep them within a zone.

I know a lot on this board have them, a GSP can cover some ground in a hurry. I need to know where he is

ETA: couple more screenshots. I can assure you Boudreauxs big arse don't go across the pond

The activity tracker portion is cool with local leaderboards. Battery life is horrible.

The garmin alpha system is the whooping shite for this.

Mine is about 10 years old and gets used every day and still works great.
