For those saying that LSU is ranked 10 to beef Bama's resume:

LSU's ranking is irrelevant to Bama's resume. If they win out, they're in. If they lose even once, they're out. They're a really simple case this year.

The other thread that said the same thing wasn’t good enough?

I guess you don’t understand the long play here when matching resumes and losses at the end of the season. What happens when they compare resumes across the country like Oregon with 1 loss to Bama?

We got bumped up to 10 to help Bama’s strength of schedule

Still doesn’t matter. If we are 2, 10, 25, unranked. No matter what rank we are if they lose to us or anyone else even in the SECCG they are OUT. Doesn’t boost them for anything and doesn’t help with strength of victories. 2 losses for them and they out.

You think a 1-loss SEC Champion would have trouble getting voted ahead of a 1-loss Oregon? Really?

Alabama with 2 losses is probably out of CFP.

If Alabama wins West, still must beat top 5 UGA/Tenn.

Then may play Tenn/UGA in CFP.

If they win three games against 3 Top 10 teams without another loss, then they deserve championship.

I think the SEC office does a lot to help Bama, but I don't buy that the committee is trying to assist them. People, including myself, get irritated every year that everything seems to align for them to get them in the playoffs. I don't think that teams who don't win their conference (or even their division) should be considered. But as long as no rule is put in place to eliminate non-conference champions, I don't know how anyone can make an argument against Bama being one of the best 4 teams every year they've made the playoff.

We're in the top ten because it's where we belong. Look at the teams behind LSU, from their body of work, to the eye test, and tell me which one belongs ahead of us? That's what I'd like the people downplaying this to explain to me.

I told someone on the scoreboard, I believe, after the Ole Miss game that LSU wouldn't need a lot of help if they can win out, to make the playoff. He was talking about how we had so many teams ahead of us in the rankings, and I told him the committee would rank us much higher. And here you go. The polls don't matter.

Whoever wins the SEC will be in the playoff. Doesn't matter who else is there or what the records are. The only question is will there be 2 SEC teams in the playoffs?

Within 10 months , lsu goes from 39 scholarship players to a top 10 rating is awesome ! No matter what else happens, this year is just the beginning of a dominant sustainable program.

We sure hope so and so far the results have been promising, buuuut CBK kept Notre Dame a contender for what? 6-7 years and could never win the big one. Time will tell. This game, imo opinion is his first of many tests

Idgaf why they ranked us top 10. That’s big just to be able to say we top 10 in BK first year. May help with recruiting, self confidence or whatever. I’ll take it.

That FSU game was mostly meaningless as well. We’d probably be ranked 7th had we won that and would probably still be in the same position, need to win out

Notre Dame will never win another title and they proved that by their replacement for Kelly. Between their admissions requirements and that shitty city they reside in it will be hard to be successful when everybody else gets to be on tv too. They are so cocky they didn’t even make a realistic coaching search effort they just made the “Cool” hire. If you are a serious contender and want to be successful and consider yourself a blue blood you don’t give someone their first head coaching job. You think Bama gonna replace Saban with Pete Golding? I mean that isn’t a power move promoting a coordinator cause the players like him
