Anyone on here attend this show? Listening to this 17 minute Sugaree right now, and its fantastic. Would love to hear some stories.

I brought both of my young kids to outdoor festival shows to see phish/panic/biscuits. My parents really killed my tour stats with the dead

It was my first Dead show. It was also Bobby's 30th birthday. My ticket cost $5, and somewhere in the house is the tour T-shirt. I flunked two mid-terms the next day.
Sugaree and Estimated Prophet were exceptional. This may have been Donna's best show with the band. I remember the headline in the Reveille the next day said The Grateful Dead bores many, excites few. I couldn't argue that, as I left pretty underwhelmed. Listening back it was probably their best performance on Fall tour.

Worth it to say you saw the Dead in 77.

I spent the next 3.5 years at LSU having to make up for that decision. 45 years later...yeah, it was worth it.

My dad took me to the '77 tuscaloosa show. I was pretty young.

LINK
i went last night and it is incredible:
-portions of 4/17/72 in Copenhagen, filmed for broadcast on live danish TV
-3 live pigpen songs
-debut performance of "he's gone"
-phil smoking a joint on live television
-clown masks during "big railroad blues"
-a smoking hot "truckin'"
-tons of fun
protip: if for whatever reason you were to find yourself comfortably and appropriately buzzed when china/rider starts, you'll be glad you were

Also a very good show. Can't be stressed enough how on point they were in 1977.

So, the Dead played a week before Skynyrd was supposed to, during the late 70s at the peak of both Bands' fame?
The (PM)AC was hopping, y'all.
