Taking group of 10 to Bahamas in private boat from Miami. Stayed a week in Bimini last year. Wanting to do something different. Like to rent house with boat dock and at least 4 bedrooms. We like to snorkel, free dive, explore and fish on our trips. Plan on spending a month during June-July traveling different islands.

Long Island 100%. It is a haul from Miami though, but worth it if going to the Exuma area. Moor in Salt Pond and go ashore at Tiny's Hurricane Hole. Michelle who runs the place will take care of you. They also have three cabanas if you want to get some rest on shore. The bar/grill there is awesome and a hang out spot for locals. You could also rent a house on the island and Michelle at Tiny's can get you in touch with some locals who have them available and hook you up with a car.

compass cay in the exumas, and then hit some of the other small islands all around there. Staniel cay for the thunderball grotto.
Harbour island is cool and would have a rental house possibly with a dock, or you could dock at Valentines marina and rent condos there.

Definitely second Harbour Island. There’s the government dock and also a large marina that can accommodate large boats.
We wound up renting a boat and captain for the day and bounced around to smaller islands for snorkeling and relaxing. We grabbed lunch at Spanish Wells, hit “Pig Island”, etc. It was a great time.
There was a small hut over the water on Harbour Island that served fresh conch ceviche and their tropical ceviche was insane. They had the conch in traps under the hut.
I’d go back in a heartbeat

I'll go opposite direction: Outer Abaco's. We did Green Turtle Cay this summer, loved it. Can hit all of those islands around there, venture further out since you'll be there for a month.

Honestly, all of the suggestions in here sound like incredible vacations. You won’t go wrong as long as you stay away from Nassau and stick to the out islands.
Personally. I love Eleuthera. Harbour and Spanish Wells area are good times.
You could also Spend the month exploring Andros. Huge reef system, lots of shore line. Incredible fishing and diving.

Not that bad. I own the boat. Split fuel 4 ways buy drinks and food in Miami and bring with us. We bring extra fuel too so don’t have to pay high prices in the Bahamas. VRBO the houses we stay at. I would imagine $4,000-$5,000 a couple when done. Maybe cheaper.
