Respectfully, but that's COLONEL Someone, TNMD.

I appreciate the effort you've put into this troll. I saw you set it up in a couple of other threads. It is definitely more than a drive-by. Bravo, sir.

Sir this a great question with an easy answer Truman. When the japs rejected Potsdam he pushed the button on the nukes. Saved countless American lives. I believe the casualty estimates to take Japan were close to 1 million soldiers. Not many folks recall that Truman made that very difficult decision.

Son bring your grandmother over to sjp for a tour. She will love it. It really is a great and friendly place. Has everything a senior could want and then some.

Hey Wolf, got a question for you. How is the order supposed to work when arranging that fruit salad? I saw someone comment the other day that it was out of order, it may have been on a television show. Not being military I had no idea that there was a certain order. Could you or the fake 93-year-old please tell me how it's supposed to go?

Son you are way too wound up for the morning hours. I was a simple NCO E8 when I retire after 22 years. No sirs requires even though I’m your fathers age. If you served then thank you for it. Most young folks don’t respect or appreciate service. If you didn’t then shame on you.

There is an order of precedence. For the Army, it is found in Army Regulation 600-8-22 (Military Awards) dated March 5th, 2019.

Most people use an order of precedence chart (they are commonly available).

I pay the money to have someone like Medals of America to build my rack for me

It is mistake free on that site. You mark what awards you have and they put them in the correct order and aligned the way you want them (center, right, etc). And they look (I must admit) damn good when they are done. But they are are not cheap (oof).

That is my retirement rack so I am done

First, thank you for your service my Army brother.

It is what I refer to (tongue in cheek) as the "Children of a Lesser God" version of the Combat Infantryman Badge. It is called the Combat Action Badge or (most commonly) the CAB. It is for non-combat arms individuals like myself who are "present and actively engaging or being engaged by the enemy, and performing satisfactorily in accordance with prescribed rules of engagement."

For me as a retired medical guy, the action I was involved in did not permit me to receive the Combat Medical Badge. It is the equivalent for combat actions not involving direct support of combat arms units. As I like to say, it was awarded to me for being stupid enough to be where I should not have been.

Gotcha, so as an MP attached to an infantry unit pushing north through Kuwait into Iraq, they would get a CIB and I will get the CAB if that had that particular ward back then. Gotcha thanks for your service as well.

On a completely unrelated note, how great would that have been if you had become my brigade commander near the end of my time, with us having randomly met here on the internet.

As it is, I did know my last brigade commander somewhat well, having gone through CGSC with him. Didn't help with the *ahem* "gentleman" who was my last rater, but I literally could not care less.

I always enjoy running across posters who have served, regardless as to component. Love swapping stories with them. And considering how miserable I was in my final assignment (Chief of Staff, Army Reserve Medical Command), I would have gladly been a brigade commander for a third time. Herding cats on a general staff was an incredibly painful job.
