quote:Also, Zion didnt play the 4th quarter or OT. BI only played 10 minutes. Herb was hobbling around. The Jazz are a better team than the league thought (still not a playoff team imo, but a competitive play in team maybe).
We lost one game. By one point. Without getting any calls when attacking the rim.
The list goes on, but we still came back from a rough game and were a shot away from winning. Besides the refs being abysmal, I still want us to play better defense. If we play defense at a high level, we will be a tough team to play against.

I don't put JV to the bench but I do think the staff needs to come to grips with some night JV just won't be effective. Tonight for example, Luka will probably PnR him to death so he has to be a monster on the offensive end to make up for that. In games like he had vs Utah, where he was a liability defensively and was struggling offensively, you have to make that in game change. If they go to Nance 2-3 minutes earlier you probably win that game in regulation.

We need to upgrade from JV if he is going to be unplayable against good teams. I like the guy but he cant protect the rim and any decent team will eat him in the PnR. Who do we play against the mavs if say nance gets in foul trouble? you can't play JV so are you going with Jax? maybe try Trey at the 5?

That upgrade doesn't exist within the salary constraints we have. That's part of why Jaxson has been so disappointing. He was supposed to be that 2 way center that wouldn't be a star but would be good enough on both ends.
Since you aren't likely to find a single player to upgrade JV, you need to make sure your center by committee has enough versatility and that your coach is willing to sit a guy like JV. I think Willie will sit JV earlier in the future and I think the team culture will allow for that without JV feeling disrespected.

True, i think we need to find another switchable big like nance since he is currently our only one. Maybe that Karlo guy they drafted could be that. If nance gets in foul trouble vs the mavs we're screwed since JV is unplayable against them
