I think that too.
But is it that, or were we tougher? This isn’t bravado. Nobody I grew up with ever had a level of anxiety that prevented them from functioning. Depression? Sure. Alcoholism? Oh yeah. But anxiety? No. Why so much more now?

It is my wholly unproven scientific theory that panic attacks are a subconscious response to urban and suburban overcrowding. I submit that taking a person suffering from panic attacks to the open country for a couple of weeks will cure them. If they return when normal life resumes , I would just recommend a permanent move to the quieter life.
