Has a top 10 team ever been an underdog to unranked team before?

I have never seen it… I am not expecting much Saturday but it would be nice to pull out with a win

Rankings mean absolute shite.

OM has not been tested and all they have to show for their “dominance” is an undefeated record.

…until Saturday, of course.

Exactly why an expanded playoff is going to be a good thing for college football.

#10 LSU was a 6.5 point underdog to unranked Ole Miss in 2009. The game was in Oxford. LSU covered, but lost 25-23.

I was there. We high-tailed it out of Oxford as fast as we could after the game ended with that debacle.

I can't recall an example, this far into a season at least. The reality is that LSU should probably be ranked, especially this year when there are a lot of mediocre teams. It's probably because of the Jekyll & Hyde nature of this team and there does seem to be some anti-Brian Kelly bias, which I still find extremely weird.

I was thinking the same thing. Who would have thought that we would be favorite over an undefeated top 10 team 6 weeks ago.

#7 Ole Miss Rebels at LSU Tigers

Unranked LSU is favored over No. 7 Ole Miss. Last year, there were five instances where an unranked team was favored over a Top 10 team. Three of those five won the game (2-3 ATS), however one of the two losers was Mississippi State, who lost at home to Ole Miss as a two-point favorite. From 2004 to 2020, the 13 unranked teams favored over Top 10 teams went 3-10 ATS (7-6 SU).

Because Vegas doesn't see them as a legit top 10 team?

No, they don't. Not those rankings.

This is exactly what my friend and I did. Stood in the aisle as they kicked it and drove straight to BR from there.

Are you my friend?

Those aren't out for another 2 weeks. The ap poll is fundamentally useless outside of advertising for the networks.

Iowa St was favored over a top 10 Ok St last year (by 7). They won the game but did not cover.

Yeah. We should have folded up the tent and called it a season right then and there

I don’t think Ole Miss has the fire power to keep up with you. Dart isn’t horrible but he’s not great either, factor in crowd noise and I think LSU wins a tight game. Ole Miss sure gave up a lot of points to Auburn…

Vegas pays zero attention to rankings, which are nonsense anyway.
