You are correct but this thread is not directed at that, it's directed at the guys who had decided Kelly sucks, Napier is great and should have been the LSU hire. Seems to overlap with the Woodward is overrated crowd.

No one that believes in Kelly now thinks last night proves he was the right hire and championships are guaranteed.

But you can bet your arse the Napier-baters would have fire bombed this board with SEE WE TOLD YOU NAPIER WAS BETTER had we lost.

Just mind blowing how many idiots are absolutely convinced that we let the next Saban get away because a guy had a couple of good years at UL and think we made a “safe” vanilla hire by swiping the HC out of South Bend in the midst of a playoff run


Kelly was anything but “safe” because the pressure to win was immediate and nothing less than a national championship will make it a success.

Hiring Napier would have been safe as hell because most wouldn’t have expected nearly as much, and certainly not as quickly.
