Delusional fan base.

We are starting two freshman on the line. Have a walk on rb starting. A transfer at qb. Transfers all over defensive backfield including a guy from McNeese. I think most of this fan base let expectations get away from them and need to really study this roster.

I could see that. Given the roster overhaul and the complete change in staff, I would say that would be an amazing job by BK

We gave up almost 300 yards rushing. That was our biggest problem last week. Losing Smith was a killer.

And people want to hang Polian, but don't want to listen to reason.
I heard him on an interview the other night talking about how thin the whole roster is in general and the fact that they can't play certain people on special teams because they are too valuable to risk losing due to depth issues. He mentioned Major Burns as one who he would love to have on special teams when he gets healthy, but they can't risk it.
LSU isn't playing with a full roster and it's a hodgepodge. And this hasn't changed in the last month--it's only gotten worse due to injury.
This year is about laying a foundation for new recruits to want to come to, not winning 10 games.
And Polian says that they can sell the opportunity of playing right away to recruits. There will be plenty of spots available.
Patience. Trust the process.

But people don’t analyze those things. They just want heads to roll. Fire polian. That’s the answer. Look at the plays. And look at the players out there. Long punt return. 9 guys in middle of the field. I bet 90% of this board has been on a punt coverage. What’s the rule? Find your lane. Stick to it. Players aren’t executing. It’s a problem of not having sec caliber guys in the lineup.

This is the fan base that "fapped" when Dameuyne Craig was hired. It was the most ridiculously reactionary thing I've ever seen. Others claimed 10-2 was the floor this year. Very few on here can really evaluate talent, the rest just run with what someone else posts. We are a bipolar people. It's feast or famine. We're winning an NC or never winning another game.
I never liked CBK before Woodward hired him but I like his commitment to a process and he's been a winner everywhere he's been. Be patient. Quit being emotional. He will win here too.

Wait a minute. What’s with the common sense???

My expectations after game 1 were 4-8 so I’m feeling great

I’d take that bet

I think some of yall are semi retarded..kelly gettin $10 mill/per yr…he will get criticism unlike in ND…Daniels is not a QB…move him to WR or RB…in this pass happy age we live in..he can not throw the ball 10 yards accurately..put nuss in…live or die by his plays…he only put nuss in when he pulled the 1st strings …give him a week to prepare..kelly gets the blame here. Piss poor 1st yr

You are the retarded one.
Again…. As has been stated very well in this thread, Kelly isn’t playing with a full deck. We literally only had 64 healthy scholarship players on the sideline against Tennessee. That is a fact. This is the equivalent of a program that just suffered major recruiting sanctions against it. While Tennessee had 85, we had 64 scholarship players available. That is a serious talent deficiency.
Sure, we have a transfer QB that isn’t the best, most accurate QB. If Tom Brady was playing with this offensive line, he would look like shite. Our O-line is ridiculously under-staffed to play against elite SEC teams. Again, we have 2 true FR starting, because they have to, not because they are ready to. We have a few more transfers on the oline. We were playing with 2 starters out on an already weak oline out against TN.
Offense is about timing, rythym, and efficiency. When your oline is getting blown up, within 2 seconds of every snap, you simply cannot execute any semblance of an efficient offense.
This is a major rebuilding job. It’s going to take a few more years to rebuild the roster. Just because you have delusional expectations, doesn’t mean Kelly isn’t doing a great job.

Is it delusion or stupidity? I used to think the former, but now I definitely think it’s the latter. It’s breathtaking the bad takes on this board and people who are so eager to shite on everything LSU.

You’re probably right. It is a lot of stupidity. They watch the game emotionally invested and watch the ball. They don’t watch the players or the schemes. None of it. Rewatch some of the first portion of the Tenn game. Denbrock was actually calling some pretty good plays. Players just don’t execute. A lot of it is JD but idk what you do. 5 sacks, 9 Tfl’s tell me Nuss would get killed. And JD is our best rb. It’s a problem that will only be solved in recruiting. We need the players

What were ur expectations prior to Game 1?
Im gonna go out on a limb & say you’re 1 of many on tRant that actually thought this team, as dysfunctional as it been the last 2 seasons, would win 9 maybe even 10 games. Right? Be honest!
Orgeron & his Staff from the short bus absolutely DESTROYED the LSU Roster. O’s biggest recruits from out of state came to LSU looking for an easy path to the NFL & didn't give 2 shits about LSU because thats what they were sold by O & his band of snake oil salesmen. Then when things went south they quit, transferred or opted-out. Why? Because they had ZERO passion or love for LSU & only wanted an easy path to the NFL.

9-4 citrus Bowl champs. A good bounce back IMO
Honestly the only team left on the schedule that I know we can’t beat is Alabama. The rest look beatable. Including Ole Miss. mainly because it’s at home. If that even means anything anymore with the way our fans love to sell tickets to visiting fans then the ones who actually go just leave after halftime.

Ummm I’m all about people getting passes, but special teams isn’t just bad, it’s historically bad
Polian is the only one that there is zero justification for keeping him. Special teams have lost you 2 games. It’s unreal

People fall for the star ratings which are deceptive. Lil Johnny commits to Tulane the services rate him as a 3 but if the same kid commits to LSU, Bama, etc. he miraculously becomes a 4 star. Same kid but the thought is if the big guys go after him he must be really good.
The NFL is full of 3 stars that developed in college. Player development is key, but yes raw talent is great to have...if you develop them further.
