Have been looking at the ring floodlights for the front of my house (already have a handful of other ring devices). They have a 3 pack of the Plus for $420 (~25% off), or a 3 pack of the Pro for $670 (~10% off).

What are the chances ring has a similar deal for the Pro?

Is the difference between the Plus and Pro that drastic?

Do you really need floodlights or looking to add cameras for visibility and security?

Can't really answer your question specifically, but I have 2 of their original floodlight cameras. Had them for about 3 years now and have no problems at all. Love them.

$140 each for the Floodlight Plus is a great deal. I wonder if they are about to come out with a new version and are getting rid of the old.

The Pro supports 5 ghz wifi, but I am not sure how necessary that is. It also supports 3d motion detection which is a nice feature, but I am not sure if it is worth the extra money

As a less expensive alternative, look into the Wyze floodlight/ camera option. This small company has some really nice tech innovations/ reproductions.
