I’m fairly certain BTR is only being kept open by subsidies. Last time I flew out they had ground crew operating the ticket counter.

Common at most regionals. I’ve known people who work check in counter, gate, and ground crew.

I once flew out of the Golden Triangle airport outside Starkville and the plane hit a bird and they needed to have it inspected by the mechanic


The mechanic for the airport was at deer camp and we waited 4 hours for him to show up and say “it’s looks fine”

Being so close to MSY takes the potential for growth away from BTR. That has to be frustrating for the airport board.
