Texas hasn't played against a good Defense

Ok, here me out.
Texas's defense is ranked number 43 in total defense. To show how pathetic this is LSU's defense is ranked number 35. So Texas's defense isn't that great which eveybody knows.
Besides Texas, there is not a single team in the entire Big 12 with a defense ranked in the top 50.
So, Texas hasn't played against a good defense this entire year. They might find it diffcult to put up these high power offensive numbers against a good defense.
Total Defense:
1. USC
5. Alabama
8. Penn State
13. Florida
I know Big 12 has good offenses and blah blah. But, I found this informaton to be interesting.

Our defense is better than LSU's irregardless of that statistic. Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma are all in the top 10 of total offense. florida is the only respectable offensive team LSU has played all year.
We've held every Big 12 team below their season scoring average as well.
D-Line has been awesome.

Could you give the one about how WVU is the best team in the nation?
Or the one about how Florida's offense is not that good but they're better than unblemished Texas and Alabama despite their "okay" offense?

UGA is 25th, 6 spots ahead of UF

Texas has played against 3 of the top 6 offenses and after this week they will have played against 4 of the top 6. I do think that the Big 12 lacks defense but the fact that Texas is even in the top 50 having played the teams they have played is amazing. If Texas wins this weekend it will be Texas and Penn State for the National Title. I don't see Alabama beating Auburn, LSU and probably Florida this year. Not all three, maybe two of three but not all three.

And LSU allowed 50+ to both of those teams, gave up a bunch of big plays and showed no defensive resistance.
Texas meanwhile held Mizzou to 3 points in the first half, shut down Oklahoma in the 2nd half, and held Oklahoma State 20 points below its season average.

Oklahoma and Missouri both had around 400 total yards of offense and scored 30 + points against Texas's defense. Oklahoma State also put up 400 yards of offense.

With that one word you lose all credibility, regardless of whatever valid point you may have had or will have.
But I don't think it is purely the superiority of the Big 12 offenses, as it is a mix of crappy D and good O.
So stating that the Big 12 O's are ranked in the top
The way LSU's D looked against UGA, is the same way Big 12 D's look every week.

LSU's defense is horrible

I realize that the Big 12 isn't known for defense...but their offense certainly makes up for that. Do you think the 'vaunted' SEC defenses or the Big 10 defenses would stop them enough to win...I say not so much. If Texas plays Florida, they win 6 of 10. Texas beats Penn State 8 of 10 right now. They may not have a great defense, but they get key stops. It's not like they gave up alot to Mizzou or Okie State. Mizzou and the great Chase Daniel had 3 points at the half.

I'd take Florida over Texas by two touchdowns.

Missouri torched Texas's defense for 400 yards of offense and over 30 points. I would say Florida would beat Texas if they played. Florida is the more complete team.
Basically, the Big 12 has turned into the Pac 10 (except USC) in which they are all offense and no defense.

No, it's not but....
Texas has played 8 games, is ranked #28 in scoring defense, has given up 18 TD's, averaging giving up 18.4 points/game, and has given up 147 points.
LSU has played 7 games, is ranked #68 in scoring defense, has given up 22 TD's, averaging giving up 25.9 points/game, and has surrendered 181 points on the year.

I was talking about Total Defense. Texas has a great rush defense but a horrible and I mean horrible pas defense.

Horrible, but is it worse than ours? I doubt it.

Pass Defense:
LSU= 61
Texas= 112
The reason LSU's sucks so bad is b/c of busted coverage and players are catching the ball without a defender within 20 yards of them.

I know. They are currently ranked 110 or so in pass defense.
It depends on what you think matters most when it comes to defensive performance....or what the bottomline is. If you think how many points you yield a game and overall over the course of the season is what really matters and the bottomline of defensive performance, then Texas is a little better, statisically.
