an absurd collection of NFL players”
Insane!

Cincinnati's Joe Burrow and Miami's Tua Tagovailoa will meet head-to-head in the NFL for the first time on Thursday Night Football.
Unless, of course, you count that legendary college football matchup between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama, which the Tigers won 46-41 on Nov. 9, 2019.
That was basically a NFL game, too, when you consider the collection of pro talent that day on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Consider these staggering facts:
-A total of 55 players who were on the LSU and Alabama roster for that game were selected in the NFL Draft from 2020-22.
-A total of 37 of the 44 starters on offense and defense were drafted.
-There were 18 first-round picks between the two teams.
-The starting quarterbacks, running backs and receivers from both teams were all taken within the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.
Insane!

Those numbers are insane

And Bama never possessed the ball on offense while they were within 1 score!
That was BAD team!
Geaux Tigers!

I asked on the SEC Rant during the offseason if this game was the most loaded matchups in a college game ever. A lot of people said 2011 LSU/Bama had more draft picks, but the 2022 draft hadn't happened yet so by now it may have taken the top spot.
But even if 2011 had more draft picks between LSU and Bama I don't think it produced more 1st rounders or as many starters/immediate stars as 2019. I go back and watch 2019 and just about every name called is a household NFL name now. It's wild

And Thad Moss, a huge contributor to the LSU O, was one of the 7 that was not drafted

Ward, Baskerville and Jaray Jenkins should bring our total up to 33 at least drafted off the 2019 team. Absolutely absurd.

Why it means more in the SEC

2011 game was a defensive game in an offensive time. It was truly impressive how the styles of football held up in a changing landscape. The talent in both games was insane, but 2011 transcended styles of football

2019 was probably my favorite game I ever attended and that includes the 2007 & 2019 national championships.
