When I went there several years back we went to a place right next to Fenway that had 3 or 4 floors. Each floor was dedicated to a diff team fan base. Wisconsin, LSU, and I can’t remember the others. Anyways they had a guy that was from Baton Rouge that would go there and he would play the fight songs and what not. It was a good time. I can’t remember the name of the place though.

If you’re looking for the alumni bar, go to Causeway. If you’re just looking for a sports bar, check out Banners or Tavern in the Square - both right next to TD Garden.

dualed - you’re referring to The Baseball Tavern, but sadly that institution got torn down to make way for more high rise housing. The guy you’re referring to is Brian and he’s a great guy. Has a New Orleans food truck and puts out some delicious food.

Yes, major disappointment. Aside from being an amazing venue for lsu games, it really was a bit of a Boston institution.

But from what I’ve been told, the owners of the bar owned the land and sold it for 8 figures to some major commercial real estate group, so I can’t really blame them for cashing out.

My guess is when that building opens a studio apartment will rent for maybe $3400/mo.

They went out with a bang though. The second to last day they were open was the lsu/Oklahoma playoff game in 2019. The place was PACKED and the staff gave zero fricks. They were handing out drinks left and right and in my…altered, shall we say…state of mind, I asked if I could go behind the bar and start serving drinks. They just shrugged and said “yeah man frick it have fun.”
